A259 near Rye reopens after crash and oil spill

by Amanda

The A259 in East Sussex has reopened after an earlier crash and oil spill led to its closure in both directions near Rye.

The crash closed the road between the B2089 and the A268.

Drivers were told to expect delays and to follow diversion symbols.

Just before 21:00 on Monday, National Highways said the incident had been cleared and there were delays of less than 10 minutes on the approach, both ways.
